Landing on Aviation Blogs #001

The Airplane Blog soars the high altitudes of the blogosphere seeking out the best places to land and provide some great aviation related links to share with our readers. This is the first volume of many that we will be covering. Subscribe to The Airplane Blog RSS Feed and never miss a flight. We cover a lot of ground and take many flights soaring the friendly aviation blogosphere skies.

Today in our flight we landed at a blog titled, Ask a CFI. This is a blog run by Paul Tocknell, a certified flight instructor, who is standing by to help answer questions for individuals who are inspired to become a pilot or who are currently in training had have questions related to that. “Hi, I’m Paul and I help student pilots and licensed pilots find information and answers to questions and problems they might have.” I would recommend fueling up at his extensive “How To” blog archive.

After taking off from Ask a CFI we soared the skies and landed at our next destination called, Blogging Pilots. Landing here we quickly discovered the huge resource of information available. Blogging Pilots acts as a hub that connects blogging pilots together. It’s all about social networking and Blogging Pilots does an excellent job hosting an environment that allows pilots to meet each other and share resources, links and knowledge. “Blogging Pilots was created to bring together pilots around the world who blog, Post by post Sharing their lives, flying adventures, experiences and knowledge.” If you have a pilot related blog, I recommend submitting your pilot blog into their directory.

After having a healthy lunch we took to the skies again leaving Blogging Pilots but realized it would be a good idea to log our trip. We took a quick detour, well an emergency landing actually, at a blog called, My Flight Blog. This blog is cool! Very well designed, long runway and plenty of room for landing our big bird. The author describes his blog, “I decided to act on my dream of becoming a private pilot. MyFlightBlog.com is my blog sharing my experiences of learning to fly with the internet community.” We wish the most success for this blog and personally it is one of my favorites so far. The Airplane Blog will visit often. Check out a wonderful post titled, The Best of Aviation Blogs. We didn’t make the list. Next time we’ll buy our tickets sooner and not miss the next flight!

After missing our flight on The Best of Aviation Blogs we took a cross country flight to Switzerland, landing at Plastic Pilot. “I’m a swiss private pilot with instrument rating. I fly on different aircraft types and I’m a fan of glass cockpits and FADEC engines.” Plastic Pilot has a cool photo gallery and a live logbook journal. He offers great insight as seen in his most recent post titled, Low Time Pilot Strategies.

Our final voyage we soared the blogosphere skies at Thirty Thousand Feet and discovered that other bloggers soar the blogosphere skies at the same altitude. Thirty Thousand Feet is a huge aviation directory that has been online for as long as I personally can remember. The blog section offers great material such as found in a recent post titled, Questionaire for the virtual flying community.

Our first journey #001 of Landing on Aviation Blogs was fun. However, now we’re out of fuel and have to try to glide home and perform a dead stick landing. Wish us luck and be sure to subscribe to our Airplane Blog RSS Feed to see if we landed ok.

Drop us a comment, share some resources with us, we’d love to hear from you. We’re also looking for aviation writers who want to write online but don’t want to worry with the hassle of creating blogs. You can call Airplane Blog Home, we have ticket and a seat on the plane for you! We’ll be writing a post in the next day or so with more information about that.

If you need a quick flight into the blogosphere, we also have a professional aviation article publication service available. Flights are only $50 bucks. We can transport your message about your blog, business, services or website to our readers. You might need to make sure your ATC is on the top of their game, because we’ll be sending you a bunch of traffic.

Nice list! I’ve added a couple of these to my reader (and already had a few in there). Hey, you missed one. ;)
