The Airplane Blog Had Tons of Spam
Good grief I just checked my comments and had over 300 comments held for moderation. Most of these were spam; however, quite a few were real comments from real people. I had to skim through each comment to assure that a real one wasn’t getting deleted. There are now comments that originally dated from Nov 07 to current. Everything is up to date, I even updated to the most recent version of WordPress.
To prevent further hassle of dealing with comment spam, I have activated the Askimet plug in that comes with WordPress. I should have done this months ago, but you know how that goes! lol
Anyway, quite a few changes going on with The Airplane Blog. I changed the theme as the existing one I felt was very overwhelming… I am a pretty simple guy and like having simple things, so hopefully the new design sits well with everyone. I am not done with it as I ran out of time but hopefully will get things finished up soon.
I have another new site I just launched titled, The Aircraft Deals Network. This is a site where I publish aircraft being listed for sale. If you are interested in buying or selling airplanes, it might be worth your while to take a look. In due time, I will be cross promoting the content between these two sites. In fact, if you look on the sidebar here on this site you’ll see that the most recent listings of aircraft for sale appear.
I want to add back the Aviation BlogRoll, get the most recent comments on display and also display an Aviation Tag Cloud which will replace the old category system. Sit back, enjoy the posts and drop me a comment anytime with feedback, suggestions or questions.
