Web 2.0 and Aviation
It’s really cool to see that aviation has picked up in the Web2.0 arena. Early in 2007 the industry was pretty dry. For me, I can remember back real early in 2007/ late 2006 with not too many videos of airplanes being syndicated in social media network sites such as YouTube.com.
Naturally, tragic events such as a major airliner crash would make Digg.com headlines, but typical everyday things that take place in the Aviation niche were never really predominant in the mass social media networks. Places like StumbleUpon or even Propeller didn’t harness a lot of user submitted content.
Things are really starting to pick up now. There are floods of aviation related YouTube videos, an increased number of pages and various forms of references, pictures and videos being Stumbled and many more great quality aviation related blog posts and publications are hitting the home page of Digg. It is all very promising and encouraging to see.
I really enjoy blogging and aviation. For me, I am very happy to see that Web 2.0 and aviation are starting to mesh together. By running The Airplane Blog, I hope to continue to contribute towards this new age of content publication and Internet social media networking among the vast communities within the aviation niche.
I met some really cool people in 2007 and I hope to have the continued opportunity to meet even more in 2008. One of my favorite aviation blogs to visit in 2007 is JetWhine.com.
Here is a brief list of aviation related blogs and recommended reads:
There are many more but these four will get you pointed in the right direction.
May 2008 be a wonderful year for the aviation blogging community.

January 19th, 2008 at 10:02 amLove the blog, Garry. I’m also a big fan of JetWhine and was happy to see you included it as well (even if my blog isn’t up there ;). I did want to discuss a new blog advertising program with you that we’re going to go with at Airline Empires. It’s estimated at $.01 per view (not per click) and I’m spreading the word to all of the aviation blogs. Shoot me an email with any questions. If you do decide to sign up, please help out a fellow aviation blogger by using the link. It provides me a small referral.

JetWhine is a great blog, I try my best to read it on a regular basis. As far as the affiliate program you mentioned, I had to edit that out of your comment. I don’t like that program one bit, mainly for the fact that they enable people to mass market it and resort to spammy email and blog comment tactics.
I have reviewed their program and I am not impressed. This is just my opinion, but one that comes from a guy who is full time in the business of Internet marketing and search engine marketing. You can check out Garry Conn dot Com to learn more about me and the make money online programs I support.
