When Was The Airplane Invented
Have you ever been curious to discover when the airplane was invented? When you look into the sky and see a commercial jet liner flying over your house or you see a small Cessna 172 just wondering about aimlessly on a leisure flight, its hard to believe that just a little over 100 years ago, there was no such thing as an airplane. The story of how the airplane was invented is one of the best. The airplane, as with many other common things people use such as, electricity and the telephone, has totally changed the world we live in.
In 1783 the Montgolfier brothers designed the first hot air balloon. In the 1800’s people recognized a major problem with controlling these lighter than air balloons. As many modifications were made through the years, the hot air ballon eventually lead to the creation of the airplane. On December 17th, 1903 the Wright Brothers had built and flew the first heavier than air craft. This craft today is known as an aircraft or airplane. Just a few years later after airplanes were made easier to fly and manage and then were quickly picked up and used by the military in World War I.
Wikipedia has a great article on the history of aviation. I would totally recommend reading it. Aviation and airplanes have impacted the world is such a wonderful way. The Internet has many resources available where you can learn more about its history. There is even an online aviation museum. Another web site called, History Central has a wonderful illustration of the History of Aviation making it well worth the visit. And last but not least, if you want to do an extensive study on aviation, I would recommend doing a Google search for aviation history.

July 17th, 2007 at 10:02 pmThanks Goldy,
Still lots of work to do… I like this theme but I am working on just a tad less monetization. Also need to get the most recent comments up and running and a few other various personal touches to make it more pleasing to my readers.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you like the site, this is a new addition to my “personal blogs”.
Yes, I have a bunch of blogs… but there is a difference between the blogs I build for the purpose of making money online compared to the blogs like GCDC. This site is part of me just like GCDC. You can expect to find tons of great information here all related to airplanes and aviation.
Talk to you soon.
